Healthwatch North Tyneside is sharing useful information about changes in local health and care service during the Coronavirus outbreak
Residents of North Tyneside are being kept up-to-date with changes that are occurring to health and care services due to the Coronavirus outbreak, thanks to the launch of Healthwatch North Tyneside’s new online Service Changes Information Hub.
The web-based resource has been created to help bring together in one place rapidly changing information about local services, including advice and guidance, operating hours and service changes and closures. The hub – which can be found at www.healthwatchnorthtyneside.co.uk/servicechanges – contains sections on local hospitals, urgent and emergency care, GP practices, mental health services, dental care, pharmacies and where to get help, all of which are vitally important to residents at this time.
Chair of Healthwatch North Tyneside, Judy Scott, said: “Our local NHS, social care services and voluntary sector organisations are making tremendous efforts to respond to Coronavirus. Because of this, the services that we usually access are changing. We want to help the residents of North Tyneside, and our colleagues across all sectors who provide these services, have access to the latest information about health and care local services, in one place.”
Residents and those who work and provide health and care services in the borough are being encouraged to contact Healthwatch North Tyneside with details of any changes that may be useful to local residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable at this time.
Judy continues: “Like a lot of organisations, we have adapted the way we work very quickly due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. We have stopped all face-to-face engagement but we are very much still here to help. People can contact us by telephone, email or visiting our website and social media channels for information about health and care services in North Tyneside. We are really interested in hearing about people’s experiences and feedback of health and care services, what’s working well and what could be improved, which is one of our core purposes.”
