Battle Hill walk-in centre

Following speculation on BBC news programmes today in relation to Battle Hill walk-in centre, we have issued a short statement to reassure local people:

Dr John Matthews, GP chair of NHS North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group and a North Tyneside GP, said:

“We’d like to strongly reassure the people of North Tyneside that no decision has been made to close the Battle Hill Walk-in Centre.

“Like all CCGs, our job is to consider how services are arranged to provide the best access and support for patients. The walk in centre’s contract is due to come to an end and this has therefore prompted a CCG discussion with member GP practices.

“Any future proposed changes would be subject to a formal public consultation, which would include a range of options for the public to consider.”
