In North Tyneside, we have been operating three GP-led vaccination centres within North Tyneside since the 15th December 2020. These centres have been running frequently since December and operate alongside the national mass vaccination centres. We are pleased to announce that 70,729 of our residents have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This means that 41.5% of North Tyneside residents have good protection from coronavirus, but longer lasting protection when the second dose is administered. Currently only residents which are aged 16 and above can receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
